传统的电磁型电机的发展已有100多年的历史。在理论、设计方法或制造技术上,都已达到十分完善的程度。由于它的工作原理和结构的限制,难以满足当前宇宙飞船、、机器人和精密仪器等等对电机所提出短、小、薄、低噪声和无电磁干扰等要求。为此,世界各国都在努力研究各种新型电机。20世纪末期发展起来的超声电机算是最典型的一种。
超声电机的定子由压电陶瓷环和附在上面的弹性圆环共同构成,与电磁电机不同之处在于:
从驱动和控制装置产生的30~40kHz两个同频的超声电压作用于两相上,使陶瓷环和附在它上面的弹性圆环产生两个同频弯曲共振模态(驻波)。对这两个同频超声电压在空间上的相位和在时间上的相位进行调节,就可将这两个驻波迭加成单一的旋转模态—行波,通过定子和转子间的摩擦作用即可驱使转子运动。由此可知,超声电机突破了传统的电磁电机的概念,它没有磁极绕组和磁路,不依靠电磁相互作用来转换能量,而是利用压电陶瓷的逆压电效应和超声振动,将定子的微观变形通过共振放大和摩擦耦合转换成转子(旋转型电机)或动子(直线型电机)的宏观运动。它与传统的电磁电机相比,具有惯性小、响应快、控制性好、不受磁场影响且其本身也不产生磁场、运动准确等特点。特别是它具有重量轻、结构简单、噪声小、低速大扭矩以及可直接驱动负载等特性。它不需要齿轮变速机构来降低转速,避免了使用齿轮变速机构而产生的振动、冲击与噪声等问题。可以说,超声电机技术是处于当今世界上的高新技术之一。

The development of traditional electromagnetic motor has a history of more than 100 years. It has reached a very perfect level in theory, design method or manufacturing technology. Due to the limitation of its working principle and structure, it is difficult to meet the requirements of short, small, thin, low noise and no electromagnetic interference put forward by current spacecraft, missiles, robots and precision instruments. Therefore, countries all over the world are trying to study all kinds of new motors. The ultrasonic motor developed in the late 20th century is the most typical one.
The stator of ultrasonic motor is composed of piezoelectric ceramic ring and elastic ring attached to it. It is different from electromagnetic motor in that:
Two ultrasonic voltages with the same frequency of 30 ~ 40KHz generated from the driving and control device act on the two phases, causing the ceramic ring and the elastic ring attached to it to produce two bending resonance modes (standing waves) with the same frequency. By adjusting the phase of the two ultrasonic voltages with the same frequency in space and time, the two standing waves can be superimposed into a single rotating mode - traveling wave, and the rotor can be driven by the friction between the stator and the rotor. Therefore, ultrasonic motor breaks through the concept of traditional electromagnetic motor. It has no magnetic pole winding and magnetic circuit, and does not rely on electromagnetic interaction to convert energy. Instead, it uses the inverse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics and ultrasonic vibration to convert the micro deformation of stator into the macro movement of rotor (rotating motor) or mover (linear motor) through resonance amplification and friction coupling. Compared with the traditional electromagnetic motor, it has the characteristics of small inertia, fast response, good control, no influence of magnetic field, no magnetic field itself, accurate movement and so on. In particular, it has the characteristics of light weight, simple structure, low noise, low speed and high torque, and can directly drive the load. It does not need gear speed change mechanism to reduce the speed, and avoids the problems of vibration, impact and noise caused by the use of gear speed change mechanism. It can be said that ultrasonic motor technology is one of the high and new technologies in the world.
