其实不仅是变压器，所有电力设备，尤其是内部带有液体或气体的设备，都要面对一个问题——热胀冷缩。如果没有储油柜，那么热胀冷缩导致的变压器油体积变化，就得油箱壁、进人孔、法兰、注放油阀、套管升高座等部位来承担。可是这些要么是焊接、要么是螺栓压接，都是硬连接，无法起到缓冲和疏浚的作用，只能硬抗，而硬抗的结果只有一个——渗漏油。
