　　据日经网消息，三菱电机将于4月开始在熊本县菊池市建设新SiC厂房。

　　三菱电机将投资约1,000亿日元（折合人民币约48.56亿元）来生产具有高节能性能的碳化硅（SiC）功率半导体，该厂房计划于2026年4月投入运营。三菱电机表示，与2022年相比，公司2026年的晶片产能将扩大约5倍。

　　据介绍，新大楼共六层，总建筑面积约42,000平方米。它具备生产直径为200毫米（8 英寸）的 SiC 晶圆的功率半导体的前端工艺。所有的工序将接入自动输送系统，打造高效率生产线。三菱电机计划根据不断增长的需求逐步提高产能。

　　在当天举行的奠基仪式上，三菱电机高级执行官、半导体和器件部门总经理Masayoshi Takemi强调：“功率半导体将在实现脱碳社会方面发挥重要作用。作为一家专门生产SiC晶片的新工厂，我们也在考虑节能节水事宜”。

　　在电动汽车（EV）普及的背景下，三菱电机决定建设新工厂，是为了满足市场对功率半导体日益增长的需求。

　　值得一提的是，该工厂已经“绑定”了Coherent（前 II-VI ）的碳化硅衬底产能——2023年5月，三菱电机与Coherent签署了一份谅解备忘录，Coherent将为三菱电机新工厂供应8英寸n型4H SiC衬底，双方共同致力于扩大8英寸SiC器件的生产规模。
