FedEx Express Canada, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), today announced the launch of its first FedEx Small Business Grant Contest in Canada, which will recognize passionate and innovative small businesses from across the country. The contest will begin accepting entries next Monday, April 9 and offers a total prize pool of $80,000 in cash grants and $20,000 in brand marketing agency support and consulting services to 10 Canadian based small businesses. Specifically, the awards will include:
Grand prize: One (1) winner of a $25,000 CAD grant, plus one (1) meeting with FedEx Express Canada president Lisa Lisson, one (1) brand marketing workshop with FleishmanHillard HighRoad ($10,000 CAD estimated value), and one (1) meeting with a Canadian business consultant ($5,000 CAD estimated value).
Silver prize: One (1) winner of a $15,000 CAD grant, plus one (1) meeting with an internationally renowned Canadian business consultant ($5,000 CAD estimated value).
Bronze prize: Eight (8) winners who will each receive a $5,000 CAD grant.
“We’ve seen great response from the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest communities in other countries around the world, and are very excited to bring the contest to Canada,” said Lisa Lisson, president, FedEx Canada. “Small businesses are the backbone to our Canadian economy and we are thrilled to offer them financial and consulting support opportunities to help them grow their business.”
The contest is designed to provide small businesses with support and financial resources to help them grow and be competitive on both a local and international level. Originally launched in the U.S., the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest expanded to reach customers in other countries, with programs in Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, China, Italy, Singapore and the UK.
