　　值得一提，机器人的水下对接与水下点火，既是传递亮点又是难点。想要达成对接，在野外复杂流场环境条件下，火炬末端的定位度须持续保持在1厘米以内。这对机器人的动力稳定性要求很高。水下推进器为水陆两栖机器人提供水下动力的核心零部件，至关重要。 本次采用的水下推进器应用了先进的磁性耦合驱动技术，大幅减少了推进器运行过程中的冲击与振动；动力电源与信号电源系统内部隔离，所有电器元件密封在一个密封舱内，减少了密封泄漏危险；机、电、桨的融合设计和精密工艺使产品效率、噪声、功率密度等多项参数达到。高性能、高精度、推力大、体积小、重量轻等技术优势，很好地满足了机器人火炬手的要求，成为其动力。 另外，据了解水下火炬重点在于“防水”和“补氧”。火炬研发从燃烧需要可燃物、助燃剂、点火源3个方面入手。火在水下实现燃烧重要因素是“防水”和“补氧”。防水”是指保护点火源，即给火制造“无水环境”。火种被放置在一个“筒”状的“空腔”中，燃烧的火焰周围，包裹了一层“气膜”一样的气动防水罩，两项设计保证了奥运之火与水“隔绝”，顺利在水下燃烧。此外，为了防止水下氧气条件不足，火炬燃烧器还自带了助燃剂，为火补充足够的氧气。 不仅如此，除了水下火炬接力机器人外，空中飞行机器人、地面机器人、冰雪面六足机器人等，先后参加实验室测试和外场试验，并在沈阳和北京开展了外场试验，为北京火炬传递提供了高质量的技术和装备支撑。
