在 大规模推广新研制出的化学材料之前，必须衡量该化学材料的可被生物降解的能力大小，以符合环保要求和减小将来的处理费用。简要测试原理如下：样品和空白样 在恒温的密闭玻璃瓶中连续搅拌28天，产生的CO2被吸收剂吸收，引起密闭环境所气压减少，压力的减少量跟生物降解性能有关。OxiTop®-C感测头可连续记录测试结果，具备强大的文档记录能力。另外玻璃瓶和系统附件可承受121℃的高温。
