The GE RX3i is a control system from GE Intelligent Platforms with the following features and functionality:
High-speed backplane: Combines a new high-speed backplane (PCI-27MHz) with an off-the-shelf 90-30 series serial bus.

The ic694cee001 in the RX3i family is a single-slot RX3i carrier/expansion module with an integrated Profinet network interface and redundant 24V DC power input. It connects a remote node consisting of one RX3i I/O module to a Profinet I/O Local Area Network (LAN) and has the ability to scan all modules in the remote node, post and receive data to and from the Profinet IO controller for a specified period of time, manage Profinet communications and module configurations, manage the status of the I/O in the event of a communications outage, and post fault messages to the controller.
