该地电岩性测深仪装置由两台便携式发电机（总功率4000w）提供的功率充足、过载保护的发射器和可拆卸接收器组成。操作由用户的笔记本电脑控制。地电岩性测深仪是一款按需定制的设备，其功能可以修改。
地电岩性测深仪利用随设备提供的解释软件，可以将从多个变电所获得的GEPS-2000测量数据组合成电阻率和IP剖面。8通道剖面的数据输出与RES2DINV反演软件相匹配。
